Blast and Other Extreme Events (Floods, Bushfires, Earthquakes, etc.) – Design, and Modelling Forum for Practitioners & Researchers
Day 2, Thursday, 12th May 2016 9.30am – 5pm
In today’s world, knowledge of modern protective structures is vital for both building engineers and protective security specialists. There are many similarities when you consider these extreme events.
The Blast and other extreme events – Design and Modelling Forum will provide participants with a valuable overview of case studies, modelling tools and research projects in this area covering terrorist attacks, accidental explosions, mining explosions, floods, earthquakes, bushfires, risk and safety management etc. Leading practitioners, researchers and clients are invited to make presentations or attend.
The Forum will be informal to maximise networking and information transfer. The Forum will consist of 25-minute presentations (including questions), and a 25-minute panel session exploring topics including the future demand for research, design services, and trends in modelling techniques.
Fees are designed for the Forum to break even. Fees are:
- $200 (incl GST) for students
- $295 (incl GST) for presenters
- $395 (incl GST) for delegates
